Sign Language in Lincoln was set up in June 2008 by Tuula Scott-Burdon who has been signing since 2001 and has the NVQ Level 6 in BSL qualification and now is currently studying the part 1 on the interpreting course and is a registered JTI (Junior Trainee Interpreter).

The lead tutor, Iain Scott-Burdon who is Deaf, has over 20 years experience of teaching British Sign Language and Deaf Awareness. Iain also has the NVQ Level 4 qualification.

The certificate at the end of each course is a recognised qualification through 'Signature' (previously known as CACDP). The tutors attend courses through Signature to make sure the curriculum taught is kept up to date. We are a recognised assessment centre with 'Signature'.

The courses currently available for the 2012/13 academic year through Sign Language in Lincoln are: Levels 1 and 2.

We keep our classes in a relaxed and fun manner whilst also ensuring a professional status is maintained. Assessments are compulsory for Level 1 but not for Level 2 so whether you come along to get an extra qualification on your CV or to communicate with a Deaf person you have met, everybody is welcome and we guarantee you will have a laugh along the way while taking our classes seriously.
